technically, you're still passing. you're only officially flunking if you get an F. However, if you're getting a "D" and you're planning on taking more advance classes, then you might want to retake that course. "D" in your report card is not a good grade to show up on your transcript.

A "D" is usually not a failing grade. You should check with your teacher, though. I teach a particular class where students MUST earn a "C" to pass so, for that class, a "D" would indeed be a flunking grade. As for taking the subject over again, well, you might want to consider doing so. After all, how well did you really learn if you are earning a D?

Well, since you're in middle school, a "D" in considered passing, but just barely. Now, if you plan on continuing this then no it's not going to do you any good in the future. They should be already warning you of academic probation or being held back. They'll prolly put you in a lower division of whatever subject it is you're stuggling on.

it depends if that class is credit for graduation. If it a core subject like English ,math, science, I strongly suggest a tutor, because each grade level it gets harder. Just study harder in that subject.

Good Luck!
