What's a Turner Syndrome???

uhhh... im doin this research project for school and if you know anything bout the Turner Syndrome plz help cuz i dont know much bout it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx!

Turner Syndrome is a genetic abnormality, where there is one X chromosome instead of two X's or an X and a Y. All affected people are female. The syndrome is named after Dr. Henry Turner, who was among the first to describe its features in the 1930s. TS occurs in approximately 1 in 2,000 live female births.

Turners Syndrome occurs in females. Normally a female has to "X" chromosomes (XX), but in a female with turners one doesn't cross over well, so they end up being XO.

It affects certain growth patterns in other parts of the body, so they usually end up being short, having neck webbing, kind of a sheild shaped chest, the angle of their elbows goes outward more than usual, increaed risk of bicuspid aorta and often they have under-developed ovaries (streak ovaries) that can affect the development at puberty....so many have a less matured level of sexual maturity (smaller breasts, less pubic hair, less hip curve, etc.)

Their intelligence is completely normal, and many are so subtle you wold never know they had any disorder. Many go on to become mohters and live completely normal lives.

turnrers syndrome is a genetic disorder. it affects girls . normally girls have two xx sex chromosomes but in this condition she has xxy chromosomrs. a female in this condition has small ovaries is sterile .she also has a small uterus. if all she has kids the disorder may be transmitted to her offspring as genetic disorders can be passed on form parent to offspring via the gened during crossover of the chromosomes.

My best friend has it. It mostly affects females and is chromosonal/hormonal imbalance that affects height. She is tiny, but well-propotioned, unlike dwarfs or midgets. Plus, she had to take hormone pills to develop and cannot conceive children. I don't know all the medical details like chromosonal ratios. You should be able to find more info online.
