Crusades: "God Wills It" -Pope Urban II
Spanish Inquision: "Jesus Loves You!" - one of the torturers, while jamming screws into people's thumbs, stretching them until their innards rupture, etc.
But it's not just Christians.
Many other religions also kill in the name of their God just to prove who's the most peaceful.

We, he didn't rise from the grave. If he could see what had been done in his name since, though, he might have decided to keep his mouth shut instead. Or been a whole lot clearer.

His father is enraged with the behavior of man. Why do you think he will return with power and a sword? His robe will be dipped in blood. The picture of his return to exact God's vengeance on Earth is not a pretty one.
