I am currently working on a design project to develop a new system of portable collapsable shelters used in the field by the military. I need your input (perferably if you have been deployed) on what elements I should include in this design. So far there will be bunks, tables and chairs for eating, bathrooms with showers, and a kitchen for eating something other than MRE's. Please tell me what it was you either HATED about your living arrangements or something you wish had been done differently. What was a common comfort that you were denied while in the field? I want my design to be something that would solve a problem rather than perpetuating an existing one. Be creative, be fun, but mostly be honest. I need all the help I can get and I'm doing it cause I'm a born and raised military brat. I have a lot of friends and family who are in (or have been in) and I'd love to design something that would make all their lives easier. Thanks for the input! :)

it would be cool if we had some TV. Maybe the internet for each one of us, that would be good, I miss my family already. Phone and letters take too long. Emails will come by, but it takes time because we take turns using the internet maybe even somebody's else laptop. Internet where we can stay in contact with our loved ones.

Something we can wash our clothing in. We wear our clothing for the whole week. It would be nice to have some sort of way to wash our cloths.

Thats it for now.

I have no idea what's going on now, but when I was in we carried half a tent. You had to buddy up with someone else to have the whole thing. It was called a shelter half. Our gear that we had to carry weighed 70 lbs and that was without our M1 rifles which weighed 11 lbs when loaded. We also had a little thing called a steel pot which we had to wear on our heads. How things change...

I can't give you input, but, as a military wife, I can thank you for thinking of our troops' comfort!!! Keep up the creative, wonderful work.

The problem with the RFab tents is that they have so many different parts. Something always gets lost.
