Yes .both males and females have 12 pairs of ribs(12 on each side-right and left.)
In rare instances a person (male or Female) may have an extra pair at the top end called cervical ribs. or Sometimes the floating ribs (last pair) may be very small.
I heard that it used to be believed that the woman came out of a rib of man. Perhaps this should be interpreted as a broader figurative and symbolic manner that prevailed at the time of origin of the belief rather than going and counting ribs.

The human rib cage is a part of the human skeleton within the thoracic area. A typical human ribcage consists of 24 ribs, 12 on each side of the thoracic cavity, in both males and females.
