You're just going to have to let them settle their differences. It may take some time, but hopefully they will learn to co-habitate.

My cats always have an "out". A place they can go to get away from the dogs if they wantto. We keep a chain lock on our basement door so that the cats can get down there but not the dogs (won't work for a dog smaller then 15lbs. though). This way when my Lab mix and JRT mix get too frisky my cats can go hang out in the basement. It keeps the dogs out of the litter box too.

ADDED...I don't know what breed your dog is, but also keep in mind that some breeds will naturally go after cats and that your cats may NEVER be completely safe if ever left alone with certain dogs (even if they seem to get along 90% of the time). Make sure to never leave them alone together unless the cat has an escape.

ADDED.....Nice thought Sweet Treat, but my JRT mix won't allow the cats on the bed. As I stated earlier, some breeds....

Like IheartAnimals said, be patient. Teach the dog not to chase the cat. Believe it or not, it can be done. Most cats will leave a dog alone, although I do know of cats who would attack dogs.

In time, they might even become good buddies!

time and patience. animals can work out their differences without humans trying to interfere. they may never get along, but they will have to do it on their own if they are going to.

If they are babies, have them sleep in your bed with you. Then they will see that they can trust each other when they sleep and it just carries on to when they are awake.
