we have now been re-united with her as she was chipped thankfully. Unfortunately she seems to be extremely violent towards our other 2 cats that are actually her daughters. We realise that she has probably had to fend for herself and been through some scrapes, but now that she is home, how do we set about keeping her calm and re-integrateing her with her daughters.

you have to remember that by nature cats are solitary animals, we have bred them to stay kittenlike and enjoy the company of humans and tolerate the proximity of other cats. Your cat will have to readjust to being in the company of, what are by now to her, strange cats.
firstly, is your female cat entire or has she been neutered. entire females are minefields of hormones. they see other females as competitors for any roaming males. if she is entire, then i would recommend you have her neutered , unless you are going to exhibit and breed from her.
Ideally you should get a puppy pen about 3ftsx2ftx2ft £40 from Argos. give her a bed, water, food and litter tray and keep her in this in the same room as your other cats, they may hiss and spit but wont be able to get at one another. if possible swap them round for periods, with your other cats in the pen and your female in the room, let her get used to the room again. as well as their smell. at night put her in the pen and the others in the room.
gradually move their food and water dishes closer together. until they are feeding next to each other but either side of the pen.
eventually they will settl doen, and when you see them nuzzling each other through the bars you could try putting them together in the same room for a short time, initially returning one party to the pen before they start fighting, or if any aggression looks like occuring.
I might add, keep a blanket, coat or something to throw on the cats if they start to fight. NEVER try to seperate them by hand, dont panic if they start to fight as your panic of ecited voice or gestures will fuel their aggression. You should never hold one cat and introduce it to another, it is quite dangerous.
Cats mouths are infested with bacteria and their saliva is designed to be injected into prey and kill them. not quite as bad as snake venom.
if you are boitten go straight to the doctor, or casualty for tetnas jabs and a course of antibiotics.
many of my fellow cat breeders have ended up in hospital as a result of an infested bite from one of their show cats.
my own took 3 hours to infect my leg from the foot to the groin.
Good luck, and remember be patient, stay calm and they should get back together. i know of many istances where it has taken 6 weeks to get them back together. my own girld need 3 days to get to know each other after having spent a week away with a stud boy.

A slow re-introductions is probably the best way to go, but if she continues to show violence to your other cats then it might be an idea for you to get some cat 'happy pheromone' to help calm the atmosphere. You can buy it at most vets, either as a spray or as a plug-in slow release unit, the spray is called Felifriend and the plug-in is called Feliway. Check out the web Page below, good luck.

She is most likely still getting used to being home again. But, try separating them. Then, only when someone can hold one cat while you hold the other. Re-introduce them to each other they will soon get used to see each other. dont over whelm her by bring them both out at once. One day while watching tv grab up the cat and get someone to watch tv with you (next to you) but not to close while holding the other cat. Change out cats. When theyre together make sure no food is around!

Very carefully. As you surmised, she has been traumatized. You might want to actually treat her as if she were a new cat, after all this time: Close her in a room by herself, but where she can smell the other two cats and get used to them again. And meanwhile, give all three of them a lot of attention.

Good luck!

Wow. This gives me hope. One of my girls has been missing for 12 days now. Maybe she will still come home!

Anyways, as for 'violent' out-burst, my momma cat has been mean to all three of her kitties since they were weaned. Maybe it's just a natural reaction? Or was she not like this before she went missing?

Congrats and good luck on everything. So glad to hear a happy 'reunited' story! Yay. :)

Do the same thing as you would do with any cat, slowlynintroduce them, keep her in a small room inbetween times and maybe at feed times intorduce all cats together, usually helps.
