You R not reaching a deep sleep. I'm guessing that Ur still rather young. I talked & walked in my sleep when I was younger, you will grow out of this phase. I suggest that you get some melatonin, it's an over the counter supplement to help U sleep. It is all natural & nonhabit forming. I also suggest that you visit these sites.

I talk in my sleep. I have ALWAYS talked in my sleep.
It is kinda scary sometimes!
One thing I have done to prevent this is to take Tylenol PM.
Start with just a half. It gets you into a deeper sleep and seems to stop my talking altogether!
I take a whole one though.
Hope this helps!

Addition: Be careful when taking "natural" sleep aids. Herbs are not regulated by the FDA. Melatonin is a hormone which naturally occurs in the body, when you start playing with your hormones you are asking for trouble. We had a full class discussion on over the counter Melatonin in nursing school. People read a pamplet or website and then they are qualified to treat themselves with unregulated herbs.

I strongly reccomend you stick with a simple Tylenol PM or talk to your doctor.

for a long time my older sister did the same thing, when she got older she went to see a sleep doctor about it, and he told her that she has Sleep apnea, this is a disorder whitch causes you to stop breathing in your sleep... There are many difterent reasons why you may be doing this. Here is a sight. check it out.

Hope it helps

I think you might want to try a NATURAL sedative....maybe a cup of chammomoile tea with Valerian root added (your health food store should carry one called Sleepytime Extra). You can also buy Valerian capsules....
My brother had a whole host of sleep problems....one time he was in the shower at 3am....when I opened the door and asked him what he was doing he answered, "Getting ready for school!" He was TOTALLY asleepthe whole time!!! For periods of time during my childhood my mom even slept in front of the stairs because he was sleepwalking and fell down them! He went to a reputable Hypnotherapist and this cured his crazy sleep antics. You might want to try that!!
Good luck!
