I think it is really better to move on with your life. But really your the only person that can decide what is best for you.
Did you guys break up on good or bad terms?? Do you stay in contact or are you even friends at this point??
Before you decide to see him I would talk to him in advance to get the feel of things first and then go from there.
It sounds like your just lonely from a new start. Try getting out and meeting new people and getting involved in activities that you like again in your area and let the past go. good luck!

it all depends how u guys ended. if u still keep in touch with him and u guys are cool, then go ahead and visit him. but if it was just a final break up, then i dont really see why u would waste ur time. u never know, maybe u go visit him and u find out hes with somebody else. then how u think ur gonna feel? just ask around ur frendz and see what hes been upto if u havent talked to him.

are you asking for permission, sure sounds like it, as well I think it is the major reason for the going back to see friends, Figure out what you really want to do and then you will not need to ask, or blame if it doesn't work.
