I love Boxers-they are my favorite breed & I have two. But I will say this-TAKE NO CHANCES! If you have an aggressive dog-no matter the breed-make sure it is kept away from small children. Don't risk it. If it is possible to socialize or re-socialize a dog to not be a hazard to a child, I've never seen it done. I would not trust any dog around my daughter if it showed the least bit of aggression.

Boxers are powerful dogs and could cause a great deal of damage. Please be careful.

Wow. I love Boxer's and have had three myself. I've never heard of one being aggressive with kids, they rank right up there with Labs as being the best dogs with kids.

I would start with a visit to your veterinarian to make sure he doesn't have some medical issue. If not, then make an appointment with a reputable trainer. They should be able to help as this is out of ordinary for his breed.

First, you obviously need to keep this dog away from kids.

Secondly, you need to get him to training with a qualified instructor who can teach you how to deal with food aggression. If he's always been this aggressive and is now 3 years old, you've left this problem way too long. Get this dog some help before he does seriously bite someone.
