the doctor will have you lay on one side, with your knees up to your chest... and just take a deep breath and relax... your going to feel a little discomfort for a min.

But as long as your just relax you will be fine. it does not hurt all that bad.

Yes you will be covered up. i am not sure what cramps you are talking about,.

You will be covered up.
Some pain can happen, especially if it is a 'high enema' which goes into the whole length of the colon. Whatever pain is felt usually goes away really quick when the enema fluid passes by the places where the colon flexes.
You will probably be on your back, although a side position is also possible.
Deep breathing and relaxation helps the whole procedure.

No, not painful at all! A bit uncomfortable psychologically because it's a different kind of situation than what we're used to. You can be covered up if you want, just tell them. You can roll onto your side & it can be inserted. It's quick & simple. No cramps, you won't hardly feel anything. Stop worrying about it - just have it - the medication will work much quicker & more effective than having it orally or by injection.

Enema, infusion of liquid into the rectum to evacuate fecal obstruction or to introduce drugs for treatment, or radio-opaque material (barium sulfate) in order to define the colon on X ray.

Bent over or laying on your side- no it wont hurt- they use a type of lube. There wont be any cramps, though you will feel the sensation to poo almost immediately.

usually they have to give it to you after surgery before you leave the hospital
You will have tons of privacy... usually only one or two people are in there ...

It shouldn't hurt. You will probably be on your side, then your back. No cramping should occur and yes, you will be covered.

No, it shouldn't hurt though it might be uncomfortable. When I had it done it did cause cramps though and they had to press down on my abdomen.
