First of all, she is only 68 pounds, at 5"4, and she is 14 years old.
Second, she hardly eats, and she plays with her food all the time, she always makes up excuses not to eat, and she exercises 3 hours a day. She is always cold, and she is very very skinny.
Is she anorexic? What should I do, besides take her to a doctor, I did that already, but we are both not 100% sure yet, I am not with her most of the time, she is usually in school, and I spoke to her friends, and ask them to watch out for her. Is it possible that she is anorexic? WHat should I do?

It sounds like it. Trust your instincts. Talk to her doctor, talk to her. Check out this web site:http://www.anad.org/site/anadweb/

I'm sorry, but she is. I'm 12 years old and 5'1 the average weight is 96-100 but I only weigh 72 pounds, she is 2 yea older than me, 5inches taller and 4pounds less... That's bad and she needs help. Only your daughter knows whether she is anorexic or not

I would say definitely yes. How the doctor not be sure? These are all the signs of having an eating disorder. I would say go to a specialist and get them to look over her, because at 68 pounds she should be hospitalised, or at least close to it.

Good luck. But remember, you'll only be able to fully help her when she wants to help herself. There's only so much you can do physically if she refuses the help mentally. So help her realise.

the symptoms you describe do, i'm afraid, sound very much like anorexia - BUT the only person who has the answer to that question is your daughter. anorexia nervosa is very often triggered by some stressful event or situation, such as teasing or bullying, parental divorce, etc and the anorexic uses denial of food as a way of maintaining a kind of control over their life.
can you think of any situation in your daughter's life that might be distressing her?
one thing is certain - telling your daughter to eat will only force her to be secretive and to feel even less in control. talk openly and honestly with her - gently share your concerns and try to see what is going on in her life - consider trying to get her to see a therapist or counsellor who can work through any stress or upset she might have, which would impact on her eating habits.
do try to nip this in the bud. talk to her and listen to her and if possible, try not to let her see your distress.
i wish you the very best of luck.

First of all, anorexia is a mental condition. Low self esteem and a negative body image play a part in it. Is your daughter frequently depressed and/or insecure? Does she often call herself fat when she is most obviously stick skinny?
Secondly, 68 pounds at 14 years old is unusually thin. But what "thin" is all depends on body frame and family genes.
She probably doesn't eat as much as a normal person would because when you don't eat much, your stomach shrinks to suit that amount. You should gradually increase her portions and even use the whole "you're not leaving the table until you eat all of this" deal.
If she says she is suffering from depression, you should take her to a psychiatrist to see if there is anything he can prescribe and get her some treatment.
other than that, that's all I can really think of.

sorry but i think your daughter is anorexic because most people weigh around 100 pounds when they are 12. one thing you can do is cook meals that your daughter enjoys and try to get her to eat them. anything with calories is good but make sure it is pretty healthy because if she gets sick her immune system doesnt work as well if she is malnurished
