What are raisins?


Processed raisins are dried grapes of the Vinifera variety such as the Thompson Seedless. The processed raisins are prepared from clean, sound, dried grapes, which are properly stemmed and capstemmed, then sorted, cleaned and washed in water to assure a wholesome product.

Raisins are actually small grapes for example grown in central california. After harvesting the grapes, they wash and then dry the fruit to become a raisin.

EASY , they dry out the grapes in the sun. that's why the raisins are wrinkle, because the sun dry out the juice from the grape

you take a grape, put it in a dehydrator, turn on and presto, raisin. the dehydrator sweats the juices form the grapes and hence raisins... same with prunes. they were once plums
