Everyone is different, but Lexapro did not work for me at all. I gave it a long try too. Please go back to the doctor. I didn't and fell into a severe depression. I finally got something that worked and am well on my way to getting back to "normal."
Good luck to you and PLEASE go back to the doctor. If he/she won't try another medication than switch doctors.

Not all drugs are going to be able to cause a chemical imbalance in all people. You can keep trying other drugs (there are many) or get to the root of the problem. Why not find out what's causing anxiety or depression, rather than drugging a symptom?

My friend, thats depends of your mental disorder.
Try to explaint to your physician about your feeling, maybe you need another antidepressant. Or maybe you just need more time to begin the antidepressant to make the work.
Be patient, talk with you physician, and good luck.
