According to a study by Paul Bell, published in the Mensa Magazine in 2002, there is an inverse correlation between intelligence and religious belief. Analyzing 43 studies carried out since 1927, Bell finds that all but four reported such a connection, and concludes that "the higher one's intelligence or education level, the less one is likely to be religious or hold 'beliefs' of any kind." A survey published in Nature confirms that belief in a personal god or afterlife is at an all time low among the members of the National Academy of Science, only 7.0% of which believed in a personal god as compared to more than 85% of the US general population.

Some yes, but not as a majority.
No more so than in any other group.
What exactly makes you think that Christians are lacking in education or intelligence?

Why? Because they believe in another source of all life than atheïsts such as myself do?
Admitted, if one adapts the bible as the entire and whole truth, a lot of things don't match with what modern science has concluded. But the deeper meaning, the existence of a conscious creator, stands unproven and never to be proven.
An atheïst says: "Why would there be a god?"
A Christian says: "Why wouldn't there be?"

No, but in some there is a willful rejection of what they have been taught in school. I wouldn't really say that represents a lack of intelligence or education.

I'm Christian too, and unfortunately the generic stats aren't so good in our favor on that subject.
But to me those stats seem very foriegn. I live in a college town of a major Christian university. I'm a graduate myself, and I go to church every sunday with brilliant proffesors and students. It's hard for me to picture anything different.

it would definetly be offensive to broadly say that christians are christians because they are "stupid"
most of the time, it is not a case of "stupidity" (though sometimes it is)
it is mostly that they erroneously believe what they believe because
1) the human will to believe
2) not being informed enough to discern the veracity of the bible
3) the "satan principle" which states that sketical though and doubt is from the deception of satan (read "do not look at the man behind the curtains")

Many are educated, but only in the bible, and biblical history, they only see life in the borders of religion.
once you drop thoes borders and look at life, and live in the ways of another, then you can see it from another viewpoint, all religions are like puzzel pieces. Each one gives a little bit of info, Study as many as you can to learn the big picture.
Christians seem to be to into ONLY their religion, they give no thinking about their pagan heritage or the viewpoints of another faith, they need to be more openminded and study other faiths so they see life through multiple eyes.

Not at all. Lacking in common sense and logic skills maybe, but not uneducated or stupid. It actually takes a lot of time and brains to learn all those lies and nonsense responses to questions, and be able to parrot Bible scripture....
Just look at the "pastor" above me who just sinnned by JUDGING another religious view that conflicts with his own... SEE YA IN HELL PASTOR!
