There are two sides to this problem; the subjective side of the problem and the objective side of the problem. On the objective side we have people who have faith, but their own inner understanding is obscured from public scrutiny, we only hear what they say or do.So people who seem to have a high degree of faith or say they speak to God are either delusional or are actually talking to God.This being so, there is a problem of false positives. There is feedback to anyone interacting with these people that could be false as most of the people who "talk to God" are, statistically, not talking to God and are in fact just crazy. This really creates a false image of what is true and gives influence to the crazies so that they can affect the religious communities as if they are genuine, which leads me to the other side of the problem, the subjective side.If all you have is your own perception of truth and you believe God tells you things, how do you validate your faith and prove you arent nuts?

Prove to yourself, that is. Other people will be willing to listen based on their own dispositions, as we ultimately understand other people within our own terms

The faithful seem delusional at times. Everyone believes in something. But no one can accept the different believes that others have.

Who ever believes like you is okay but someone that believes differently is seen as outlandish and absurd.

Man you really missed the target. You sound confused. The only reason why you try to reason things out is because the human level of understanding is very limited. Don't talk about what you do not understand. We have all heard God, saved or unsaved, but there is a difference between hearing and listening. Even TV shows have depicted the witness of the spirit inside all of us. Have you ever seen where they show a devil on one shoulder of a person and an angel on the other. What do you think that represents?

The very first chapter of Hebrews and the first few verses clears that up. It plainly says that in times past God spoke to the people through the prophets using miracles and signs and wonders, this includes dreams and visions, but the scripture then says that in these last days God spoke to us through his son. If Jesus did live and was the Son of God, then God spoke to us through him. If people claim to have visions and rdeams they are deceived, and don't let them tell you their dreams and visions are a fulfilling of Joel chapter 2, because Peter already cl;claimed that. read Acts chapter 2 his claim that they were fulfilling Joel chapter 2 is found in verse16, so anyone claiming this gift today is claiming the bible false, so you decide is the bible false or the modern prophets? Or possibly both?

I don't. That's up to God. As for validating my faith, once again I don't. Man simply doesn't matter. I do not feel I need to validate myself to anyone but God.Not my faith, not my personal choices, not my business decisions, not anything. I have seen it all in my many years, faith is a personal choice and it is also private. Enough said.

All religion stems from people who are obsessed with trying to place God in a box. God is not safe nor is He able to be tamed. God listens and actively seeks those who worship Him in spirit and in truth. The moment you ascribe to a religion, you have subscribed to someones attempt or have manufactured your own method of taming God. This includes methods of prayer and supplication.
God will listen if you are open to this concept. He sees all our attempts to work within a religious framework as a joke. He is holy peeps. Get with it.

by thier deeds will you know them ,
if faith is there fear is not/cannot be there,
im not sure talking to god is a sign of foolishness ,sure god replying can be seen in a certain biased light but who are we to judge
the koran says those god wishes to destroy he first sends insane could be seen as apt ,
i prefer jesus reply love god love neighbour
we are all free to percieve and act within the truths as we see them to be but by our/ thier deeds we know [never judge[ by thier deeds we know if they are what they claim to belief is really believed [lived] or not.
our concept of god is by what we believe god to be
its our own freewill choice
i have never run a four minute mile but i know humans have ,i can aqccept that as true or not as we all must choose many things believable or not ,believed or decieved , we just have to go with what works.that has good fruits

Matthew, chapter 7

"16": Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

"20": Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

I don't see a distinction between strong faith (believing in something without evidence) and delusion (believing in something for no reason).

I can tell, because when people are delusional, they repeat the same word over and over, "blither, blither, blither. . . ."
No, wait, they sound more like Charlie Brown's teacher.
