never heard that ... my dad had colon cancer and his normal temp was around 99.3

I don't believe that to be true. If anything, I would imagine their temperatures would be elevated (higher than 98.6), as the cancer cells probably trigger a low-level inflammatory response in the body that raises the temperature. You can almost think of it as a similar way your body responds to any "invader" (bacteria, virus, etc.) that it feels to be threatening.

I know this doesn't sound like the most scientific answer, but I can't go into the details of cytokines, immunology, and the inflammatory cascade without confusing the situation.

No. The only exception in which that might happen is if the person is severely malnourished, then they may become so thin that they might have a lower temperature.
The previous comments are correct, if anything some cancer patients may run a higher temperature esp certain cancers such as lymphoma.

No. There may be specific reasons some cancer patients have a lower than average temp, but having cancer does not mean the temp will automatically be lower.
