Hi Nici...
Matthew 24:5-8 talks about some pretty specific things that will be signs of the end times:
1. For many will come in my (Jesus) name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many... Some of those that are deceived will be those well read in the scripture...
2. There will be wars and rumors of wars... The middle east is on fire as we speak!!!
3. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
4. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
Anyone keeping up with current events has certainly seen a rise in all of these, but then I suspect that many previous generations could have made the same claim.
Some other possible signs would include a rebuilding of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem, increased aggression towards Israel, and the formation of a one-world government/currency/religion.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 says: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness but denying its power...
The bottom line is that even though we see many... well ok almost all of the signs, particularly aggression aimed at Israel, NO ONE knows the time of Jesus' return (thus the end times) except the Father...
Just Be Ready BEFORE he comes!!!
As a good friend of mine whose is also an end times scholor often says... "Look Up and be Watchful... the Day of Redemption is Near."

Religion has nothing to do with it.
God's Word has everything to do with it.
SIGNS
Christ gave some events to recognize the end times.
In Matt.24:3-8, Mark 13:5-8, Luke 21:8-11.
Many shall come in my name (authority) saying I am Christ (Christian) and shall deceive many.
The best example of this is the so-called Rapture. This is a LIE which can easily be disproved by God’s Word. Christ returns at the seventh trump.
Wars and rumors of war.
Nation shall rise (rouse from obscurity) against (along side) nation kingdom against (along side) kingdom.
The words “shall rise” (eg-i'-ro) in Greek means “rouse from obscurity”.
This word “against” (epi) in Greek means “along side” not in opposition to.
Since 1990 (30) new countries have emerged. We now have the global market place or the global community.
Famines.
Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
This famine of hearing the words of the LORD is very apparent on TV. Maybe a verse or two then mans’ words for 20 minutes.
Pestilences.
Aids, mad cow disease, bird flu and etc.
Earthquakes in diverse places.
This word “earthquakes” (seismos) in Greek means both “earthquake and tempest”.
Look at the hurricanes we have been having.
All these are the beginning of sorrows (birth pangs).
This word “sorrows” (odin) in Greek means “birth pangs of childbirth”.
The birth pangs of a new dispensation, and the contractions are getting closer together. The water may have broke during the tsunami of 2004.

The teachings in the Bible are spiritual, not physical. The "last days" does not mean the end of the physical world, but rather the end of a spiritual age that began with Adam and ended with Mohammed (hence the title, Seal of the Prophets).
The last days have come and gone and a new religious cycle has begun with God's most recent Messenger, Baha'u'llah. The revelation He has given humanity will bring peace to the world for the next 1,000 years and guidance for the next 100,000 years (the Baha'i religious cycle) His revelation is available to all humanity.
1. “Verily I say, this is the Day in which mankind can behold the Face, and hear the Voice, of the Promised One. The Call of God hath been raised, and the light of His countenance hath been lifted up upon men. It behoveth every man to blot out the trace of every idle word from the tablet of his heart, and to gaze, with an open and unbiased mind, on the signs of His Revelation, the proofs of His Mission, and the tokens of His glory.
Great indeed is this Day! The allusions made to it in all the sacred Scriptures as the Day of God attest its greatness. The soul of every Prophet of God, of every Divine Messenger, hath thirsted for this wondrous Day. All the diverse kindreds of the earth have, likewise, yearned to attain it. …” -Baha'u'llah
2. "His teachings, which embody the divine spirit of the age and are applicable to this period of maturity in the life of the human world are:
The oneness of the world of humanity
The protection and guidance of the Holy Spirit
The foundation of all religion is one
Religion must be the cause of unity
Religion must accord with science and reason
Independent investigation of truth
Equality between men and women
The abandoning of all prejudices among mankind
Universal peace
Universal education
A universal language
Solution of the economic problem
An international tribunal" -'Abdu'l-Baha

Yes, I believe it is very close to the end times. Look at all the signs, the earth is groaning and travailing like a woman giving birth. I have heard that when the end times come they will no longer use money anymore, and people will get a metal piece in their wrist or forehead, and if you get it, you will go to hell because that was a mark from the enemy, and if you don't get it you won't be able to buy things. Then the AntiChrist will come.

I know this sounds like I'm being flip . . . but I'm not
We have been living in the last days since Jesus left the planet.
True . . . we needed some prophecy stuff full filled back then. It is my opinion that there is nothing left to "do" according to prophecy . . . the stage seems well set.
But how long will he tarry?
I have no religion . . . I am a Christian.
I hope He comes today!

I believe it's possible. I somehow feel when human existence ends it will be 200 or more years from now.
However I also believe there could be some major changes coming upon our world very shortly.

People who talk about the last days.
Interesting subject. I think, if I'm correct, those who believe that we are in the last days, probably are blind to the destruction we have created on mother earth and the ozone layer. Probably do not believe in global warming either. Their way of thinking is cancerous to those of us who believe in ending world hunger, pitching in to stop global warming and creating new ways to treat illnesses through stem-cell research. Hey, after all, there is nothing to look forward to. The last days. cancer to optimism. Maybe if they convince enough people we can commit mass suicide. Save our earth while we still can. God put it here to enjoy.

Absolute bunk, the imaginings of the feeble minded. There have been HUNDREDS of serious "end of days" Prophets, all people that today's Christians would respect. They were ALL wrong. Christians at the time believed, and they were all WRONG. Now tell me Mr 401, what special knowledge do you have???
