One of the mystery religions absorbed by the Roman Catholic is involved in Philistine idol of the fish-man god called Dagon, which was also referred to as the devil.

The Pope and Bishop hat "Mitre" is called the fish head of Dagon. Pagan priest wearing a sun-fish, the head with open mouth worn as a mitre and the rest of the fish forming a cloak.

Dagon was the God of Babylon and Philistia and is mentioned several times in scripture in Judges 16:23, 1 Samuyl 5: 2-7, and 1 Chronicles 1: 10.

The most famous temples of Dagon were at Gaza inJudges 16:21-30 and Ashdod in1 Samuel 5:3,4; 1 Chronicles 10:10.

The Mitre or Dagon was represented with the face and hands of a man and the lower half the body as the tail of a fish in 1 Samuel 5:3-4.
