Religion is a personal belief system. If you had reason to belive if someone is placed on this planet to teach and guide you to become a better person then you have every right to "worship" said person or personification. every realm on earth, every country no matter how small has some sort of faith based system of worship. Just because your "religion" is different from another doesn't make it any better than the other. All religions are right and all religions are wrong. Learn about all religions and make your own fact based conclusion. "Knowledge is indeed power." I'm not overtly religious, I'm infact agnostic, and being this I can clearly study religion without any bias. I see their hypocrisy and their virtues, and from their virtues one can become a better person.

Wow. Your ignorance is astounding. Buddhists do not worship anyone. And Buddha was actually a man who lived on the land and was very poor. The image you've see is something shown to the stupid west.

ok, so the question is implying that buddhism is soley concerned with the personal ego-definition of mankind, which is false, not to mention Buddha practiced austerity so he wouldn't be fat in the first place, so in my conclusion you should understand the true meaning of buddhism, that is liberation.
Allow me to quote a famous Buddhist passage.
"What, Gotama, is the one benefit that you live for?"
"The one benefit the tathagatta, the Buddha lives for, is the fruit and emancipation by illumination."

What an idiot...buddah was not fat...he was athletic and one of the best atheletes of his time, not counting he was also royalty. argghhh...please read up before you make such a stupid comment or question.
