Unless you have very specific needs, you do not need anything. Bring a small first aid kit; if you need to buy more, bandages, disinfectant, aspirin, pain killers etc. can be found anywhere, even in small supermarkets sometimes. There are good pharmacies with English-speaking staff everywhere.
Western-level drugstores such as Boots are in all tourist centers.
Usually private pharmacies will always try to sell you the most expensive things they have, so check the shelves yourself. It's not uncommon that they try to sell you strong antibiotics for a headache.

If you have specific needs, the usual applies : keep a supply long enough for youtr trip and keep the name of the medication AND of the main active compound in it so you can get it in a hospital if needed (sometimes the same medication sells under a different name in different coutries that is why you need to know the name of the chemicals inside, not just the medication name).

Do not take needles with you, you might have problems with the customs and hospitals have a decent standard of hygien there.

I've been traveling to Thailand every 3 years. The recent trip was in November, 2005 and have never needed any needles or tablets. I'm very sure you don't need any vaccination for the trip.

You need not take any tablets or needles to visit Thailand. It is not that backward now. Just need protection against the mosquitoes, that is all. You can get most prescription/medication over the counter should you need any. And they are not expensive at all.

I have never taken any, I don't know anyone here who does take any, but, if you go to your doc he will certainly stick you with something so that you think you are safe.. if you think it will help you to enjoy your trip, then by all means, but probably not necessary..
