My five year old eats lunch at school and the menu never seems to change.
It seems like every other day its pizza, nachos, bread stick with sauce...but it is this same stuff spread through out the month.

it is crazy, how can a school serve pizza three times a week.

What can I do to change the foods they serve?

The school lunches are probably prepared at a larger company and sent out based on a schedule.

If you are concerned about the nutrition of the snack you should probably bring it up with the school district. They should have some sort of dietary specialist or nutritionist who handles the the school lunches.

It will probably help if you work up the chain (as immensely frustrating as that is) by speaking to the school nurse, the head cafeteria person and the principal. It is unlikely, unless it is a private school, that they can make any changes, but it's helpful if you go through the proper channels and perhaps even get support if you want to make changes.

Good luck!

It's true, they do serve the same things over and over ( I should know, I go to school). Obviously I can't make a difference because I'm just a kid, but if you and a bunch of other adults get together and write the school board, I'm sure they'll change it.

Please do it, I'm getting tired of pizza, cheese sticks, and all that other nasty food.

Why don't you just make lunch for him?

Golly at five years of age I even made my own lunch. Usually it was a bologne sandwich with an apple and juice. Sometimes it was some sort of leftovers. All in my Dark Crystal or Dukes of hazard lunch box.

Why are we letting the schools raise our kids? We don't need PE, get their butts off the couch and have them do some yard work or go out and play.

They are just giving the kids what they want. Life is easier for them this way. They took prayer from school did you not think a balanced diet was not right behind it. Complain to the school board. Have you went to se what lunch is really like at the school or just take your little one word. Go see.
