Frenchies are known for the snoring abilities and I have not met one yet that didn't snore, some just snore worse than others. You may want to have your vet check her soft pallet and nostrils next time you are in with her. Frenchies are known for having an elongated soft pallet and stenotic nares (nostrils that are too small and will pinch shut when the dog inhales), both of which cause snoring. These can both be easily fixed with surgery, and if you are going to have it fixed I would ask your vet to do it then (it usually costs an extra $100-150) but it will reduce the snoring a lot. They are both simple and safe procedures that are great to do while the dog is young so they don't cause problems when the dog gets older.

My Frenchies do snore some, but usually only when they sleep on their backs. I usually just wake up and roll them back onto their stomachs. I have never had to have them have surgery to correct the problems, but I know people that have and they say that it was worth every penny.

If it is really bothering your boyfriend, he can try ear plugs, but the only work a little bit.

Learn to love it. I have 4 dogs, a 5 year old son and a wife. They all snore, they all have bad gas. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and it sounds like somebody is playing the dueling jackhammers in my room. I just laugh because I know I'm probably just as bad. I think its adorable when my dogs snore...not so much with the wife.

Its normal for some dogs to just snore. Its just like how some humans snore as well

That's typical of the breed. Pugs are the same way. It's because their breathing passages are so mis-shapen (because of the way they've been bred to have flat faces... all the nasal tubes, etc get squished up). One of my pugs hardly snores at all, but the other is HORRIBLE. You just have to get used to it though. Some dogs need to have surgery to correct problems with their airways. Others (like mine) are born with very small airways. You could talk to your vet to see if surgery is an option for him, but unless it's necessary for his health, I'd avoid it. These dogs (due to their breathing issues) are also more at risk during anesthesia.

I have an English Bulldog and I'm sorry to tell you.... You can't do nothing about it. I've my dog for 2 years and sometimes he snores so loud he vibrates the bed. It drives me CRAZY! I wear ear plugs. It helps a bit.

Unfortunatly you don't. This is natural for dogs in the bulldog family to snore due to the short nasal passage. I raise Chinese Pugs and they snore very load also. May I suggest ear plugs...lol

I think bulldogs just tend to snore. Nothing can be done about it, that I know of.

Nothing you can do, especially for a bulldog. Go to websites about the breed and see how people cope, but it's one of those things... every breed has something that owners just need to accept and put up with.

Bulldogs have a smaller nasal passage then most dogs....I had 2 English Bulldogs and one of them I actually had to have surgery done on her nostrils because they were so bad.....Other than that there is nothing you can do.....just love them :)
