I have been on 5 Royal Caribbean Cruises and I have no complaning!! It was awesome, no seasickness! Awesome Food, I recommend The Voyager. Have the time of your life! I wouldn't ever go on a Carnival Cruise, Just because I loved Royal Caribbean so much!

Carnival is marketed toward a younger customer base. Royal Caribbean is a bit more refined, with lots of sporty activities. RC will probably cost a little more than Carnival.

I went on a Carnival cruise aboard the Tropicale a few years ago (before she burnt up) It was all right, not too manic. The tropicale was Carnival's oldest ship at the time, and smaller than the megaships now.

You can get seasick pills from the purser's desk if you feel woozy. I suffer from motion sickness, so I start taking them before the boat gets underway, I take them for a day or two, then I am fine and have never been seasick.

The entertainment is pretty good, usually. The stage shows are fairly elaborate, comedy can be hit or miss. Lots of fun activities on board, if you put aside cynicism and decide to get in the spirit of the thing.

I have been on both cruise lines. My first was with Carnival, then 2 on RCCL. They are both nice lines, with nice ships. However, Carnival seems to draw in the younger crowds while Royal has a wide range of ages onboard. Both lines have SOOO much stuff to do on the ship you will never be bored. I actualy liked the food on Carnival a little more than Royal. Some people have told me after doing both they will not go back to Carnival because of the number of college people on the boats compared to Royal, but that was said by older people. Book early and save alot of money!! Also keep an eye on the prices, alot of times you can the differnce in price back if they drop.

Oh no, they are not the same at all. Carnival is always full of kids, teenagers and young families. RC will be more "adult" in nature. I have always heard very bad things about Carnival from my friends who have cruised. I have always avoided Carnival for that reason. I guess it depends how old you are and what you are looking for...

I was on Carnival a few years ago. It was fine, but remember all they are are floating buffets with casino and cheesy Vegas like shows. Take full advantage of land activities and just rest on the ship while you go from island to island.
