There is this guy in my class at school,we'll call him Fox, who asked me to our winter dance. I don't want to go with him but I don't want to make things really awkward in class. Is there a way to say no without majorly hurting his feelings?

lol. im sure youre not the first and you probably wont be the last. youre better off telling him what is really is now. you would hate for him to get the wrong idea by you going to the dance with him. doesnt matter whether or not you tell him youre going as friends. chances are he'll swear youre his girl. what would be more akward in class, turning him down or going with him and having this weird swimfan crush going on. not literally of course...i hope. good luck to ya!!

That is a crappy situation..and that is way cool of you to consider his feeling..Just tell him"sorry I would go with you to the dance, but i already have someone else in mind" or something like that..you don't want to tell him that you already have a date because if he finds out that you dont, it would hurt worse. Don't worry. he will find someone else to go with..or he will eventually get over it. Good Luck

That's always tough...I would kindly tell him that you are not able to go with him because you have a prior obligation/someone already asked you to the dance. This way he won't be so hurt-he won't take it personally

Say "Look, about the dance, I already promised 'jonny' that I'd go with him. Really sorry but I can't let him down this time. Hope you understand. You're sweet for asking though. "

Just tell him "sorry, I'm not interested". It'll hurt him a lot less than if you stand him up. I've been stood up a few times and that hurts the most!!

Be honest. This might hurt his feelings, but it is better than all of the other alternatives (excuses, lies, etc.)
