I have found that A&W Diet Root Beer is as close to regular as the Diet Dr Pepper, I am diabetic and drink a fair amount of diet soft drinks, here in Canada we have some made with "Splenda", Orange Crush and Cream Soda. I am a fan of Tonic Water, and diet is a good choice as it quinine in it, not much malaria up here but if your a gin drinker it is a light drink for the cocktail hour.

If you drink it straight from the can it tastes funky but if you pour it over ice in a glass it tastes the same as original Dr. Pepper.

I like Diet Pepsi--drink it all the time. It tastes a lot like the original. However, w/all diet drinks, if u eat something sweet w/it, it will taste funny.
