Forgive me for intruding but I couldn't resist an attempt at 2 points. :-)
I'm not a police officer, but feel the concept behind this message (or what you seem to imply) is generic enough to offer my two cents:
To piggy-back on an earlier post, females are already a minority in law enforcement, period. To ask why there are no female Police K9 officers seems to suggest or hint at discrimination practices. I don't want to accuse you of that, but consider the fact that there may not be as many applicants as you might assume. It may be of small interest to female officers.
A better question to ask, or thought to research, would be OF THOSE THAT APPLY, HOW MANY MAKE IT? How many meet all the qualifications and still do not get selected? That's where you'll find the meet of what's going on.
But looking at it the way the question is posed, I could do the same thing... turn it around and ask WHY AREN'T MORE MEN WORKING AT THE MAKE-UP AND JEWELRY COUNTER AT MACY'S? I mean, where's the equal opportunity here! See what I mean?
Absence of diversity is not always a clear conviction of "restrictive practices".

I am not sure how you came to the conclusion that K9 protection handling is one of the most dangerous part of policing, or that females don't do it.
I do not beleive that these statements are really accurate, it may just seems that way because there are only a few trained K9 handlers in each department, so really the common citizens don't have much exposure to the K9 handlers.

women are only window dressing in the force. They are often paired with men to keep them from being bribed or making their own conscience decisions. They also serve the purpose of attracting males to the force. Dogs on the other hand are more altruistic than men so there is little use for women handlers. There would be less crime if men over 6'2" were recruited instead of silly 4' high gals with guns. No wonder we live in fear nowadays.

Females are a minority on the police force. K-9 handlers are a specialy. Multiple the odds of a cop being a woman by the odds of a cop being a K-9 handler, and you'll see why there aren't too many.

In our County Sheriffs Office we have a couple female K-9 officers. There are a lot of women in the police force who are K-9 officers.

My sister says they have Female Dog handlers in the dept that she works in. I guess it maybe a male dominated area, but there is no reason for a female no to do it if she wanted to.

What is the "law force"? It's because being a K9 officer requires a great handle on the English language which you don't seem to have.
