Sell the car the way it is.
$400 deductible to fix a bumper to get more money in your pocket will cost you more in the long run.
The insurance industry is not stupid. Because of little incidents like this your insurance rates go up.
After the bumper gets fixed be ready to get your rate reviewed next renewal period.
Trust me they will get their money back.

The deductible will cost a lot more. If you're that worried about it you could go to a really cheap repair place, a bumper ding isn't hard to fix and fix well. You could get it done at a crappy place and it will still most likely turn out nice and for so much cheaper.

No! Not unless you're gonna up your price by $500 and stand firm. If you're going to sell it and may bargin a little on the price, let the buyer worry about that. They may point it out and ask for $400 less?
So decide what price you want, up that price by a little more and then add another $400, that way the person buying the car can bargin with you and you can go down a little here and there and still get the original price you wanted.

I would definately get it fixed. Buyers will see it and make a big deal out of it so you'll discount more than you should.
I replaced my car's bumper before selling it on eBay and got more than I would have otherwise. What most people would've seen as a $500-$1000 problem, I got it fixed for $200 from a guy working out of his home.

I'll tell you what. DON'T PAY IT. I can actually get one for you for cheaper. They are not the hard to put on and a mech shop might actually only charge you for about an hour work. Email me and I can tell you what the price would be. I used to have my own online business and well as handle some of the lots locally here in Topeka, KS buying there parts for them. Just let me know.

I'd recommend taking it to someplace like Carmedics and get a $100 less than perfect fix. Depending on the damage you may want to take pictures before the fix so you can show potential buyers what you had done, if they ask.
Good Luck!

Sell it as is. The deductible should be more that what you'll have to take off the asking price.

first I'd go to kellybluebook.com,and answer a couple general questions about your car, and it will give you the book value for 3 different conditions that your car may be in, but most likely I'd say no it will not be worth getting fixed

The company's employee handbook says yours is the primary policy. Further, it only deals with liability coverage not physical damage. Unless there is more, there is no express agreement to pay for physical damage to your car while you are using it in the course of employment.
