If both colors fit your decor then go with the black, it will stay much cleaner.

I would say black.
I'm a former housekeeper and one of my clients had a cream colored leather sofa and love-seat.
It was a nightmare.
Pigment from clothing specifically bluejeans rubbed off on the couch and it was a bit** to get out.
It also seems to me that the lighter colors crack more easily.
Probably because they have to be cleaned so much more often.
And no cleaning leather couches is not that easy.
It is a wax-on, wax-off (Pat Morita reference) procedure that you have to do twice.
Once with the cleaner and once with the conditioner.
Giving them time to dry as you go and you can only do small sections at a time.
At least those are the directions on the bottle.
Is dark brown not an option?

I'd go with black, even though you will have to dust it regularly. We had a cream leather sofa in our old house, some pigments from new clothes would transfer onto the sofa and as it got older the "cracks" in the sofa would become noticeably dark.

Cream is softer to the eyes, more homey. Black is better for offices and such.
EDIT:
People! It's leather! It's easy to clean!
Even that microfiber stuff is easy to clean. We have two creamish/beigeish microfiber couches...getting stains out is a snap!

Depends on the colors in your home. Cream does show more stains more such as ink and soda spills, black doesn't hide all stains. Cream hides dust and pet hair better, where they really show up on black. No matter which one you get, you will have to routinely clean it.
