Pets and people sneeze for two reasons. Either the membranes that line their nose are inflamed or a foreign object of some sort is present in the nostrils.
Nasal membranes become inflamed either because the pet was exposed to a chemical irritant or it has contracted a respiratory tract infection.

What do you mean more than usual. My dogs hardly ever sneeze; maybe once a week. If he's sneezing a lot have a Dr. check him for allergies.

It could be possible that this is the beginning of some kind of canine flu or "kennel cough". You should take your dog to the vet right away! Be alert for any signs of excess mucus around eyes, nose and mouth!

Any discharge? if so coud be bacterial infection. Viruses ca cause it too. unfortanately other causes could be something "up" there like a fungal infection or a mass. to know this xrays, or other dagnostics may need to be done.

I think it could just be allergens in the air. I don't think its a cold. You can check this website, its pretty cool, I just found it today.
