Get them some good cat toys and a scratching post. You may have to experiment with scratching posts, since all cats are different and may not like every post. Rub the new post with catnip to tempt your cat to it. A cheap way to make your own is to get a fairly thick piece of wood and nail a carpet to it, either frontwards or backwards. I've had cats that LOVE the back side of a carpet.
Trim their nails, also. It takes patience, but the more you do it, the quicker they get used to it and the faster and more precise you become at it.
Good Luck!

Please...don't declaw your cats! Anywhoo...it would help to know a little more but I'll go ahead and throw a couple of things out there. Take a look at how long this has been going on and then take a look at things that may have changed...try to get "into" your cats. If you can get to the cause of the behaviour you may be able to help them and get some peaceful sleep at night. If you try to scare them or dicipline them it will not really 'solve' the problem. Play with them...help them burn off some excess energy...
A good thing to try when you feel all else has failed is to find a local pet store in your area that carries natural food and natural pet care products. generally people are pretty knowledgeable and they will have all kinds of 'tricks' from flower essences to new toys to books for you to read. if you can not find one near you then call one up...i could recomend a couple of great ones for you...Dewley's Doghouse in Kirkland, Wa is awesome!!!
good luck!!

crate em when they're bad. Separate crates, kitty will go there as a safe place where it's peaceful. I know the cat people will be screaming at this , but have done it with mine, who is two now and she has almost outgrown the hell raising phase.
I don't even have to put water in the squirt bottle anymore I just reach for it and she runs LOL.

Hello,
I have a bad kitty too! Luckily, I have only one. I have tons of toys a huge cat pole with 4 landings and he loves them as long as I play with him. He wants them to be moving at all times. Toys didn't work for me, especially since he is still a kitten. My kitty didn't care if it had catnip on it or not. He likes it, yes. I know people don't like kitties who are declawed. I had mine declawed as he started climbing my curtains and I bought a new house and I didn't want the laminant floors ruined too. My vet told me to do it since he was still a kitten. The vets said that they would rather people get the kittens declawed than have to put them to sleep when the owners don't want them anymore for ripping the house apart. I guess they do that a lot. I only had the front claws declawed. He is fine and he is an indoor cat. He can still catch things and bring them to his mouth. He is still a hyper active kitten and still acts up just as he did before. Anyway, I had asked a question about keeping my kitty off the dining room table. He eats things he shouldn't also, like the carpet, cardboard boxes, kleenex, toilet paper, chews on the wood chair legs, dresser drawers, etc.. Got so bad, he got constipated and was vomitting, more vet bills. I can keep after him while I am home and kitty proof so much. I shut the bathroom doors, turn kleenex boxes upside down, etc..
A yahoo user actually told me about a product called: Kitten & Cat Indoor/Outdoor Repellent, but I couldn't use it around food.http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=8250&Ntt=cat%20repellent&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Np=1&pc=1&N=0&Nty=1 This website was great as it has people you can actually talk to about their products live and they suggested SSSCAT Spray, which for my kitty, works beautifully. It scares him. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=10802&Ntt=ssscat&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Np=1&pc=1&N=0&Nty=1Ideal for avoidance training
* Sprays odorless, non-staining gas
Keep your cat off of furniture, countertops, and plants. SSSCAT Spray senses your cat within 1 meter, then emits a startling, deterring spray. Contains odorless, non-staining gas, harmless to pets and people. Approximately 150 sprays per can. Refills available. Requires 4 AAA batteries
I put it on the counter or the table, and put it by the Christmas Tree, he never went near the tree.
I found, I actually need more than one. He likes to go on all the counters where he isn't allowed, plus the table.
It doesn't hurt and it is a humane thing. I couldn't spray him with a spray bottle on my laminate flooring, so this works wonderful, especially when I am not around. They will send you a magazine and they actually have more things that you can lay down like a blanket that alarm.
My Kitty is 8 months old and is finally learning. I bought one refill and the refill can is a lot bigger than the original can they send you. I get sssscated a lot because I forget to turn it off. :) It scares me too.
Best wishes for kitty training. I know the feeling of one, can't imagine double the trouble.

You didn't say what breed of cats you have. Are they Siamese? They can be full of you-know-what.
Have they been neutered/spayed? This can settle them down quite a bit. Do you give them plenty of attention?
From what you describe they sound pretty wild. I have known several people who have had Siamese cats that they dearly loved that sound like yours. If that is what you have that is just their nature to "act up."
