I dont think it is a bad thing but i do think it is not a good idea. Guys that age are usually interested in one thing..and we all know what that is. what does a 19 yr old want from a 16 yr old? u are under age and should be dating boys your age until u are at least 18. If u do decide to give him what he wants whether he says he loves you, likes u a lot or whatever he will take it and leave you. I suggest u find someone around your age if not then dont date right now. but if u must find someone your age range. Good Luck.,.,

A 16 year old girl has no business with a 19 year old boy. Or man I should say. I don't care what these agreeable idiots say here. If you are 16, date another 16 year old. Don't try to be older than you are. 16 year olds probably should not even be car dating alone with a 19 year old, muchless "going out." Yes it is a bad thing.

No young people need to explore their feelings and relationships. Just keep it at that, you are a bit young to have your friend start exploring other things. Remember you are growing very rapidly right now and there is a marked difference of maturity and experience between a 16 and 19 year old person. Some boys have figured out they might be able to take advantage of this fact.

If the boy really loves you he will be willing to wait until you are old enough and mature enough to experience a male female relationship in its fullest meanings, and will not "fool around" in the interim

I started dating my wife when I was 20 and she was 16, there were some times when she behaved too immaturely, but we pulled through it. I never tried to take advantage of her and I loved her the moment I laid eyes on her. If the guy involved is decent and is looking for a long term thing, then I don't think it's a bad thing.

I would say, yes and no! Yes because gurls who are 16 are normally a bit mature, and guys are on their way there. So in a way you guys could get along.

At the same time though, you guys might have sooo much NOT in common... and while u guys talk .. there may be alot of prolonged pauses. Just be careful! You could give it a shot. Self control and self respect is the key here. Good luck!!

Not really. The age difference is about as much as you could get away with, but by the time you're 17 and 20 etc. it won't even seem an issue.

Only thing is though, bear in mind why someone may go out with someone 3 years younger than him. Either - can't get a girl his own age (and to be honest, by 18 plus, everyone starts to settle down and start dating people of their own age again.)...if that's the case, why can't he get one his own age?
or, he may be after something else. just be cautious until you really really know him.

That depends where you live and if you had have sex with him. In USA some states considered that satutory rape and he would be in serious trouble. However, it also depends how your parents feel about it. It is really is not a good idea to be dating with someone over 18 years old if the person is under 18 years old.

Well, that depends. As long as you are not being taken advantage of or made to do dirty sex stuff that you're not comfortable w/, then it's probably OK. Of course, if y'all have sexual intercourse, it will probably be considered Statutory Rape in the eyes of the law. So be careful and discreet. Good luck, and use protection. You don't want to complicate things w/ and STD or a baby.

i was 15 and my now husband was 19... we were worried about statutory rape so we asked a friend who is a lawyer and he said that as long and the girl was not a virgin when they had sex... then it was not.. now your parents or guardians could actively pursue it and i'm sure there are loopholes.. that was only 4 yrs ago
