No. DAB is in Canada but never came to the US. Instead, HD Radio was invented. It's digital like DAB, but it differs because it doesn't use microwave frequencies like DAB. Instead, it modulates the digital signal onto an AM subcarrier of the FM transmission, so it's transmitting on the same frequency as the analog FM station. They call it IBOC digital, for In Band On Channel. AM radio stations can also broadcast in this HD Radio format. Many stations are already on the air and there has been some advertising around Christmas time pushing it as the free digital alternative to satellite radio, with even some subchannels being commercial free. They market the subchannels as "hidden" channels or "stations in between stations" that you can't pick up on a regular radio.

HD radio capable receivers are still kind of pricey, although Radio Shack had one on sale for $99 around black Friday, but in my opinion these units can use some refinement. It seems like they need quite a strong signal before you can get the HD signal. In other words, you can hear the analog stations just fine but it's really got to be strong for the HD light to come on and decode. This isn't totally unlike DAB where the analog FM stations go much further than the microwave DAB transmission.
