Ok I have been dating a lady for the last couple of months. So far we have been out approx. 12 times for dinner and I have paid all the time. Its getting expensive b'cos she wouldn't want to go to a smaller or economical place. We are thinking about long term relationship here.

I don't feel comfortable taking the checks always so I want her to pay once in a while may be once out of ten times. So my question is how do I say it to her to take the tab or do a split once in a while atleast ? without any issues.
Thanks

WOW. 12 dates. I wish WE were going out! Just kidding. Seriously, she should have offered to pay by now. When I've gone out with guys who paid for dinner, I bought after dinner drinks or desert. Or I cooked at home for them once in a while. The fact that she expects you to pay 100% of the time says that she is selfish. I think its great that you are a gentleman and you pay, but you shouldn't have to all of the time. Maybe you should drop a hint that you would like for her to cook you dinner, or she can come to your house and you can cook dinner together. Maybe she can't pay because she doesn't have a job. In that case, dump her. Freeloaders are the worst.

Ok as a man you should cover the first and maybe the next two meals. After that, she should make some contribution. Otherwise she is turning you into her free lunch.

Now that I have said that. If you have offered to take her out, well then it is your responsibility to cover the charges. Relationships should be a two way street.

That's a tough one. Usually whoever does the asking out does the paying.
Just be honest with her. If you're both thinking long term, things should be shared.

Tell her that unless you eat at less expensive places, she is going to have to help with the check. Tell her you just can't afford it.

If you care about her and you are "Italian" you shouldn't be asking this question at all. If you don't like her don't ask her out.CHEAPO
