I was workong out in the gym, and afterwards one of my friends wanted to know if I would go somewhere with him (he never said where). I said sure why not. This dude took me to the public library. I just wanted to know would a female perfer to have a boyfriend/ husband that was more intellegent than muscular or more muscular than intellengent? Please explain why.

I think personality, intelligence and a good heart are the most important things. I once dated a real hunk of a guy with a great body...but he was dumber than a box of rocks. My dad used to say that they painted the yellow line down the middle of the road so he could find his way home. Now...having said that, physical attraction is important too. Physical appearance is usually the first thing that attracts us to others, but not always. A girl could work with you, or go to school with you, and not really notice you for your appearance, but notice you because you are a nice guy, or intelligent, competent at work, etc. I think both are important. Other things that are important: Don't bring past emotional baggage into the relationship. Don't bring bad habits into the relationship either, like drugs or alcohol, or smoking. Clear up any past financial burdens too. The library huh? How important is it to you that your girlfriend have some intelligence?

I would say intelligence, unless I wanted a trophy husband to show off than I would go for the muscular, but I like them smart and dominating, LOL.

Intellegent - I'm a college grad and work in the legal field. I've dated guys that did not have half a brain and it was just annoying to have nothing to talk about.

Intelligence is by far more important than muscles you can build your biceps later but the muscle between your ears is harder to nourish as you age. Why not give a girl both.

Intelligent for sure. I would rather be with someone that I could have an intellectual discussion with than one that I just sat around and stared at his muscles...boring!

I don't need lots of muscles. My preference would be someone who is fit and healthy, but also intelligent. Not in the least interested in someone who is really built, but dumb as a brick. I would get bored.

muscles don't make someone interesting...just hot. i need both. i want a man that i am attracted to but that i can carry on a conversation with as well.... a conversation that doesn't include how much you bench.
