Go on the web and search for the courthouse local to you where you can get a marriage license. If they issues licenses, they can also marry you. When we went to get our license, they offered to marry is right then and there... we had a wedding planned already, so we didn't take them up on it. The clerk also said that they were totally booked for marriages the next day, so call them and find out how busy the are if that's what you decide to do. I also live in Cali... Take any friends and family you want with you to share your special day, or just have a small intimate party at a restaurant after the wedding. Congrats, and good luck!

wow! congratulations :)
You both should just go to the court & get married there. It's FAST & CHEAP (that's what your looking for!) so here's what you do:
1.) Go to any County Clerk’s office to get a marriage license.
2.) You must be at least 18 or have written consent of at least one parent (or legal guardian) and permission from a California superior court judge.
3.) Both partners must appear together when filing the Marriage License application and issuing license. Bring photo I. D. such as a passport or driver’s license.
4.) If you are divorced, you will need to know the exact date of when your divorce was finalized. If your divorcee was finalized within the last 90 days, bring your divorce decree with you. decree with you.
5.) A marriage license is valid for 90 days anywhere in the state and it is immediately valid.
6.) The license fee varies by county and can be paid in cash, pre-printed California check or money order written out to the County Clerk.
7.) You can be married by a judge, county clerk, priest, minister, or rabbi of any religious denomination of the age of 18 or over. You also need one witness.
8.) Larger cities perform marriage ceremonies by appointment at City Hall. There is an extra fee for the ceremony (about $30).
TIPS:
1.) Government offices often close at lunch time and are least busy in the middle of the week. Some locations take appointments. They are not open on weekends.
2.) In Los Angeles, you may have to apply one day and come back the next to pick up the license.
In most cases, you can get married that same day you get the Marriage License. Also, once your fiance becomes Active Duty he will get paid extra money to support you! which is good because once he finishes Boot Camp, he will be assigned to a certain duty station & YOU CAN COME WITH HIM! The Military will pay extra for cost of living or you can choose to live on the Military Base with him. The housing on base is just like getting your own apartment together. Well, i hope this helps! good luck & congratulations to the both of you.

Go to the government office of your county to obtain a marriage license. In AZ they do cost $50, but I don't know for CA.
If you don't want a big party, you can get married the same day. Try to find a court that has a justice of the peace and call them, to ask what time they do marriages. You need to witnesses, but if you don't have them, some office people will do it for you, for a small fee.
In AZ, that did cost us $50 as well. It ain't very romantic, but the judge will call you in and have a small 10 minute ceremony and wed you both. We celebrated by going out for dinner.

Whoa! Did I understand your question correctly? Are you planning a wedding for right after Basic? Could be one lonely wedding without the groom there! Don't assume he'll be getting leave between Basic and A-school. Very few A-schools offer you the chance for leave right after Basic. How long will his schooling be? Were you planning on going with him? Keep in mind there are only a few schools that last long enough for a spouse to accompany. There are sooooo many if's, and's, or but's in your question. You really need to get some answers before you start making plans. It may be that you're better off getting married BEFORE he leaves for Basic.
Good luck!

Why don't you just go to the courthouse and marry before he leaves; then plan an actual wedding for when he gets back after A-school?

You have to go to City Clerk to registered for marriage licence for $66.25 and after you get this, you can ask for civil ceremony which will cost you another $28, you can do both at the same day.
The licence itself will expired after 3 months.
If you live in Orange County, you can go to http://www.ocgov.com/recorder/ .

Sounds like it is time for a road trip to Las Vegas! Take your best friend and his best friend... and go! They can witness your wedding. You can always have a commitment ceremony for family/friends and a reception at a later date.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
