Is BANNING ISLAM the solution?

Question

Solutions to Islamic Terror:

1) Do nothing at all (extreme Christian/Leftist view)
2) No military action, but seal every nook and cranny (mainstream Christian/Leftist view)
3) Proactively confront Islamic countries who harbor terror camps (mainstream conservative view)
4) Nuke Mecca (anti-islam view)
5) Ban Islam in America.

Choices 2 & 3 are not solutions. Islamists realize that either choice leads to bankruptcy and ruin. Its impossible to seal every nook and cranny, and even if it was, we would go bankrupt before sealing 20% of the "vulnerablities".

Iraq, Afganistan or any other Islamic theater of war is another "bleeding" alternative, as we can see now. Because American culture believes in a lefitst-santized version of "war", we give the enemy the advantage. America soliders are not soliders, they are "security" personel waiting for the Islamist to shot him.

If we banned Islam, would we need to seal every port and plane or fight overseas? Ok...go on being PC...go on.

Wow no! No No and No. I am a Christian but haven't we already tried this? Um yea it was called the Crusades. They all failed. The Inquisition... failed. Besides diversity makes us strong. I by no means endorse the destruction of anybody whom does not promote warfare. Christianity is just as guilty as Islam in promoting negative relations... this is a historical conflict. Fact is by seeking their destruction you are trying to judge them... the bible even tells us not to. In fact, the Koran also preaches peace... but they choose to follow the footsteps of its founder, Muhammed. He united the Middle East through warfare. This was all done in response to foreign occupation and influence forcefully being imposed upon the are. They are the way they are today because of what many of our ancestors did. They are not the only groups to blame.

Also, the fighting you see doesn't represent Islam. Much of it is pride... as you would fight invaders even if their invasion was justified. Honestly this solution you have outlined is incredibly stubborn, ignorant, and harmful to the future of mankind.

Where do you get off labeling each of those 'solutions' with 'Christian/Leftist'? I'm a born again Christian, but am certainly NOT leftist!! I don't believe what Muslims, RCs, Mormons, Jews, Buddhists, Jehovah's Witness, etc., banning religion is NOT the solution! A communist would probably ban religion, but this is AMERICA and everyone is free to practice their religion whether or not you agree with their beliefs. You sound like a religious bigot and bigotry is a sin, so get over yourself! Do some REAL fact-searching before you post such ridiculous liberal rantings as you've listed!

Banning any religion is not the answer.I'm a Christian and I don't believe any religion should be banned. Freedom in what you want to believe is what this country is based on.Even thou I don't believe in the islam belief that doesn't mean it should be banned. I do believe that no more islamic people(no matter what ethnic group)should be allowed in this country due to the heightend security threat.

At any rate, far, far too many brave people have died for the rights we are guaranteed here in America - not the least of which is the freedom to practice any religion you choose, or none at all.

I do not think either one of your "solutions" listed is a good idea and or is necessary. I think a change of heart from these Radicals is the proper solution. But then again this whole issue is much bigger and I would have to go deeper into it. And I don't feel like that right now.

not all Muslims are what you describe them to be!
not every one has the exact same values as the other.remember that if all Muslims would want to hurt others we would be in a much more difficult position,which leads me to believe most of them just want peace and live their lives uninterrupted.

I for one would like to see a global initiative on terrorism and related issues because extremists would have a much harder time getting their groove on.if you close down everything no one will be able to travel any longer. war is not the answer either because the victims will be the rest of the nation you are attacking that do not have weapons.they are the ones who want to live in peace and an uninterrupted life,remember.

Banning Islam would spark terror that is unheard of these days. Furthermore, it decreases tolerance and is contrary to "Land of the Free."

Other first world countries would also see it as an act of stupidity and would be against it.
