Canons have one of the best professional Non-studio cameras, but of course theres Holga, Hassalbad, Maymia, Lecia. But if cost is a bugget the 5D is just a smaller verson of the MKII just without hte veritcal grip and less megapixels.

The Mark II is a phenomenal camera at 8.5 frames per second and separate jpeg and raw recording, but it is twice the weight of the 5D and even more than that for the 20D. The 5D is great for travel if you plan on keeping and enlarging the images, say for sale or personal use. The 20D at 8.3 MP is great for travel as well as it is the most lightweight of the three and has a built in flash for close up work. The 5D and the 20D have the same failing point, however. Neither camera has any environmental gaskets to keep out water or dust. That means if you take it out into dusty or rainy conditions you have a better chance of destroying your camera at worst and constantly cleaning your sensor at best. I like the idea of using the least expensive camera underwater, where your depth of field and clarity issues are effectively canceled anyway. I doubt if any of the three cameras would do any better than another underwater. A good underwater case is available for the 20D online. As far as the Canon brand goes, I swear by my Canon outfits. Nikon puts out great stuff as well and equally high performing, just a little higher in price.

I'm not sure why you have the 20D for underwater photography instead of its update, the 30D. I'd suggest the Nikon D200 for that application.
