Do you flirt back. Maybe if you don't he thinks you dont really like him. Or he could just be being nice depends what he is doing

Some people really don't think that they can be harming other peoples feelings sometimes. It's possible he just is playing you for a fool but if you are friends he may just be giving you the wrong impression, If he doesn't like you in that way I would suggest you tell him what you don't like him doing which makes you think is misleading.
And to the person who was implied its just men, It's not all one way, Women are no better for playing with peoples feelings, at least not in england anyway.

some guys are just flirts he likes communicating with females in that manner it's best to realize this and not take him seriously you might want to tell him to not say things like that untill he really means it
