Check out Jonah.
Its a short book. He went through failure, a redemption of sorts, and then through a final retrospective failure to get the point of the message he delivered.

Job had more adversity dumped ontop of him than any other Bible character. God calls it "allowing Satan to test Job"...being that Job was supposed to be VERY faithful to the Lord, and Satan wanted to "show God" how he could make Job forsake Him. The guy loses EVERYTHING...his friends, family, possessions, even his health.
And apprently God approved of Job's handling of it, since He rewarded Job AGAIN with many "blessings"...material ones too.

Lots of Old Testament characters experienced failure. First work on spelling "Testament" correctly, OK, teachers are picky about that kind of stuff.

For example, Hosea's wife was not chaste. I won't spell out the details but, on the other hand, Hosea shows how one can be forgiving and accepting even after people let us down. His ability to forgive and love is nothing compared to what God's ability to forgive and love is like.

Moses triumphed by getting his people out of Egypt then he wandered the desert and was not able to find the promised land. He died without ever reaching his goal because he didn't do God's will.

How about Sarah, Abraham's wife? She was considered a failure because she could not give Abraham a child. They even let Abraham lie with her serving maid so the servant could produce a male child as heir. However, Sarah was able to give him a son.
