Why don't You know that simply question and you need the Christians help? you poor uneducated you.
You say: "atheists: shshshhshhhhhh!"
Why are you a hateful person, or are you just a fake person?
or that you wouldn't know the truth if it hits you with a mallet! or is it because you have your mind and eyes so shut, that the only thing that comes through is just hate, bigotry and intolerance!? I don't know! but from the questions you ask that is the only thing you are projecting. Pure and Simple hate to others.
You get respect when you give respect. Do you understand that. 'Atheists: shshshhhshhhh don't tell her what the means may be she can get it on her on, hopefully!
Be careful little girl and try to think, people who live in glasses houses shouldn't through rocks. Grow up

I'm not an athiest, so if that counts, here is my answer (the sun is the closest star, but not including the sun). I posted this on my blog a few months ago. I wrote it, it's not a copy & paste (except from my own blog):
From Earth, most of the stars visible to the naked eye are from our own galaxy, the Milky Way, in which there are approximately 300 billion stars. There are about 8000-9000 visible from Earth under ideal circumstances, but only about 2500 are visible from any one point at a given time. There are hundreds of billions (if not an infinite number) of galaxies like the Milky Way. The only one barely visible to the naked eye is Andromeda. The nearest star is Alpha Centuri. It's about 4.3 light years from Earth (about 25.8 trillion miles). Which sucks because it would take 10,000 years to get there in a space ship travelling at 25,000 mph.
Additional note not from my blog: if 1 inch equaled 1,000,000 miles, Alpha Centuri would be 400 miles away. Suck it.

Sol, our own sun...why in the world would you think, as the framing of your question implies, that Christians would not know that? sounds like someone thinks only atheists have brains...an erroneous assumption on your part...flip that old scratchy record over, it's sounding a bit dated...stereotyping is SO back in the 50's...
