Think about it. People of all faiths will swear that their God(s) changed their lives for the better. (I can look up accounts if you guys really need me to)

Either God does not discriminate based on how we choose to worship (as the Judeo-Christian God, mulitple gods, nature, elements, etc) or there is something innate in all humans that gives us the power to make our own lives better once we have something to believe in.

I personally think it's the first, or maybe a little of both. What do you guys think?

Judging by this logic it doesn't matter how you believe as long as you believe in some sort of god. In which case we can all stop fighting about who's right.

Please no "mine is the only way" talk.

I am 23, but I really don't see what that has to do with anything.

All I mean is Christians do not appear to be more blessed than other religious followers.
I did not say a god definitly exists, my argument was that the belief in a god may help you help yourself. Please don't judge unless you really read what I have to say.

I am not a Christian but feel Christianity is as good a path as any other providing it does not get in the way of anyone elses beliefs/path.

Thank you Jayne! See people like you and I can believe in God, and it's okay because our beliefs do not say anyone elses is wrong.
Of course there is no proof, and I like to challenge people to know their faith. I believe in evolution. I believe in science. My concept of God does not have limitations put on it by a single religion, therefor I don't have any rules about what to believe, just my own heart.

We need tolerant Theists, and tolerant Atheists.
No one can prove they are right, so if everyone would just believe what they want and stop acting so cocky about their way being the only way the world could be peaceful .

I'm not saying Christians can't post, just please don't post saying things like "Christ is the only way. etc etc," without answering my question.

I'm amazing regardless of what god you happen to worship.

I think everyone missed the point of your question :) I think you are right. it is a little of both. In all truth we are all worshiping the same God with different restrictions placed called "religions" by man. The whole idea of believing in a God is the belief that there is something greater in the end. Not everyone can get along so therefore there was some need to make the religions different to seem appealing to different groups of people.

I believe that God does not discriminate based on how we choose to worship because in the end if it was true faith for the good of mankind behind every religion then the worship is all similar. I think God makes up more powerful beings by believing in him. We are able to change our lives ( I am an example of this ) because of our faith in the greater end. We believe that there is a reason for us to be on earth. He is the reason. My life is much more positive and worth living because of him.

Good question!!!

I serve a jealous God and He does care who and how I worship. My God tells me not to put any other gods before Him. My God tells me He is the only God.

It definitely matters who you believe in. My God says He is the only God and the one and only True God. My God says the other so-called gods are false. My God came to the earth healed the sick, made the dead alive, cast out demons, gave sight to the blind, was crucified on a cross for the sins of all mankind so all mankind could have eternal life. Jesus triumphed over Satan at the cross. My God is alive. He was dead, buried and arose from the grave victorious. My God is a Trinity.

You can't reason with me about accepting all gods, because my God forbids it.

When you say "no mine is the only way talk," you rule out those who hold to an exclusive worldview, such as Christian Theism, which does claim that Christ is the only way (see John 14:6). By doing so, are you not saying that all worldviews are ok, except those who disagree with you? Are you then not discriminating against us?

Your "logic" is completely faulty.
You selected ONLY people who publicly stated that their lives changed for the better because of belief in some god.
What about all of the people whose lives did NOT change for the better? Why aren't you counting them?

There is no evidence of any kind that any god exists, that such non-existant gods do anything to anyone's life (for better or for worse), or that a belief in any such non-existant god makes one's life "better" (whatever "better" is).

Isn't it funny that you claim to want to stop fighting about who's right, but that claim is based on stating that only a belief in some god will make your life better? I think it's funny...:) Guess you didn't notice the irony before posting that.

It's an innate knowledge of "The Knowing" that we all have within us, I agree.
There's just different intrepretations of the source.
And everyone has the RIGHT to choose whichever path that speaks to their heart,...the one that suits their individual belief system the most, that ultimately fulfills their soul.

I wish people would realize that the religion they happen to be born into (unless they actively chose theirs) is really a matter of luck... God seems to have send different prophets to different regions of the world and I think that as long as we do our best to be as good as we possibly can then we and thus everyone else will be fine...

An alternative explanation is that people feel the need to see good in themselves and the path that they have taken (whether this is true or not), so they convince themselves that their path has made their lives better. Atheists will tell you that becoming atheist has made their lives better too.

I like this. You're one of the few Christians who could say that and not end with a hypocritical remark, like, "But I'm right and you are not!"

The first commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Christ is the only way to heaven, and that is something you did not put as a possibility.

Did the 9/11 terrorists go to heaven? They believed in allah, but that is not Christ, so they did not. .
