Can we agree there is a right way and a wrong way?

Whether we like the right way is irrelevant. We don't have to "like" it, we have to accept it as it is law.

There is a proper/right way to become a citizen of the USA and reap the benefits of doing so - including a good minimum wage, health resources, etc. You don't have to like it. But it is the way it is. There is no choice to "take it or leave it". It is law.

The wrong way is easier, sure. But it's the WRONG way. If someone truly respects the USA and current citizens of the USA, why would they do something "wrong" and illegal that affects us negatively? Because they just dont' "like" the right way? That isn't a good enough excuse people.

My great grandmother came from Poland through Ellis Island. She tied her 8 babies to her limbs with rags torn from her skirt....so she wouldn't lose them on the ship, or overboard. She spoke no English...but learned it. She worked and raised her kids in Chicago. She did it the right way, whether it was easy or not!

Pancho.....I don't have race issues. I have issued with criminals who break the law and put undue strain on the rest of us. Criminals.....not Mexicans.

I agree there is a right way and a wrong way. The right way is to come here legally, learn the language, and become an American. When you come to this country, you hang who you WERE at the gate and leave it there. All those stupid little wars and hatreds stay out there in the world. If you had a fight with the Jews or the Germans or Arabs or whatever IT DOESNT COME IN HERE!!!! You become an American and all the other Americans are your countrymen (or countrywomen) no matter where they came from.
The wrong way of doing it is to come to America and expect this country to conform to what your old country was. The wrong way is to keep speaking your own language and expect everybody else to learn it. The really wrong way is to wall yourself up in some miniature version of your old country and expect every body else to cater to your customs, prejudices, and bigotries. If you came here and dont want to be an American, the golden door works both ways. Get the hell out and go back where you came from, you are not needed here.
If you want to become an Americand and understand our principles and know our Constitution, you are very much needed here.

Yes there is a right way and wrong way of doing things but it depends on the perspective of the person looking at the situation to decide right from wrong. What is right to you might not be right to somebody else and you cannot really impose it upon others to repeat right and wrong after you.

Moreover if the purpose is in getting things done withour hurting anybody then who cares??? LAWS? Did you know that the number one law breakers are those people who studied and practised laws? And something like citizenship, who cares about right and wrong. Just get it but not at the cost of hurting somebody or taking someone's lives..

my grandpa came over the same way...well, without the kids. he came from poland and settled in ohio. what's really funny is that people (mostly mexican americans) get all huffy when an illegal immigrants are picked on. what about when my mom was going to school?...she was picked on for being polish...in california. and not to mention people hating on the irish not that long ago. i just hate that mexicans are making this their's, like their the only ones to go through this. illegal immigration is abuse on our country. it needs to be stopped.

and to illegal immigrants: i'm sorry you weren't born here. i'm thankful everyday that i was. but you can live here. you can get the benefits we have. you can live an american dream. just do it the right way. that's all any of us ask. and if you're just using us...go home. i'm just sick of this. we know it's wrong, they know it's wrong. but they could give a crap it seems.

Laws are there for a reason. The law on immigrating into our country was not put there to discriminate against anyone of any ethnic origin. ANYone who comes legally is welcome. Our laws are there to insure those immigrating don't have contagious diseases, they are coming here for respectable reasons, don't have a criminal record, their background is checked out, can support themselves, etc.

If our laws on immigration are not acceptable to the illegal aliens they can try to change it~~ through a bloody war if
that is what they want. American citizens don't want it changed. It has served us well in the past and will continue to do so in the future. We won't change our laws to suit a bunch of criminals.

Illegals come to take what they can get for free,the American way bleeding hearts,be poitically correct,Dont be racist.Im In that generation,it sickens me that we have became the ones who are supposed to take care of everything,but what do we get in return,Sued,and hated.Our veterans dont get recognized,the very ones who made this land free.Americans take care of illegals and ingrates.Its time we stand up for what is right,and stop the politicians who just want votes and the cooperatives who just want dollars.Americans are tough enough to survive,just like our ansestors without Illegals,The truth shall set you free.

Your g/mother and those like her are the pioneers of America. The world is made up of good and evil, right and wrong, black and white etc. Each balances out the other. We can't do anything to the folks who want the easy way out, they are the lazy and evil ones. but remember what goes around comes around. You keep on living a good life like your grand mother and encourage others to do the same. You are on the right track.

I totally understand you. I'm a legal immigrant and I really don't like illegal immigrants who've been affecting the image of all the good immigrants living in the US. I just don't like them!

If foreigners live in the US, they need to follow the "rules." That's just the way it is. If they don't like it, they need to go back to their country, period!

I did it the right way, and I honestly wish I did it the wrong way! You just don't understand. Your LAWS are wrong. I applied for a green card six years ago and I still have one to go! I have no rights. I can't do ANYTHING. Is it right to tell someone that they're locked up in a country, but that they can't have jobs, live anywhere legally, drive, or go to school? You just don't seem to see it. People who do things the right way end up having to break more laws in the end. We're not just gonna drop dead and die.

Yes, but you have to take in count that illegal immigrants come here because they are hungry and don't have time or money to go through the legal channels. I came legally, but I consider myself to be blessed rather than be bragging how good I am compared to the illegals.
