Assuming that all that you have said in your Q is correct, I am sure that through the ages many must have posed similar Q's all over the world. Now, if God does exist, wouldn't he be cheapening himself by coming to solve all the minor problems that are only very very important to the effected? Why has he give you a brain and the power to reason? If he doesn't exist, well something that doesn't exist can't appear, can it?

It would be nice if all the biblical stuff happened now with communications the way they are not, vs, what they were a few thousand years ago. Some folks seem to really know all there is to know and most are in the middle and some know nothing and don't want to know everything. One thing for sure, if this was all a random crapshoot and a total accident of science and physics, I hope it happens to me again. It is way too complex to be raw evolution. I have decided the only way to find out for sure is to depart this life, frustrating but true. Lets hope it is a real deal. Something I have personally come to terms with is that if there is nothing else after this, it is ok. I used to have different thoughts about this and nothingness bothered me, it no longer does. If there is life after this one, what a bonus! I can wait!

Peace be with you,
You had said:do you ever just think,, "God come on! Just give me a little more to work with!"
Well, the question is what have you done for GOD? The more we remember him (being pious and following the Divine Decree) the more he will do for you.
I have a tremendous amount of experieince with this. MANY MANY things that should have not happend in my life suddenly switched for the good. People were always saying "How do you get so lucky all the time?" I say, "It is not luck there is no such thing. Nothing happens without GOD's help and he is helping me as a reward for helping him.
Peace

I understand what you are saying but you know even if God walked down your main street some folks would not believe. If He sent a bolt of lightening across the sky that ended up spelling their name they would not believe. Look at Pharaoh with Moses, all the things God did to persuade him just hardened the Pharaoh's heart even more than before. I have found that studying the Bible along with the "Thru the Bible", radio ministry has helped increase my faith and love of God. It has given me a hunger for the Bible that I never had before and I believe that is how God reaches us. Check it our at ttb.org

Yeah, I've felt like that many times before, then He always seems to come through with just a little something to show He's there. If I really do some self-reflection, I always find that it's me that's drifted away or lost my focus. I think sometimes we can be out of tune with His methods of communication ("His ways are not our ways...") and we overlook the small things in search for something big - some huge flashing sign in the sky or whatever. I've found that He speaks in a still, small voice and we have to be still and really listen and focus on Him. And yeah, the faith thing. :)

God does everything for a reason, even though we don't always, if ever, understand it. You just have to know that god gives you everything that you need, even when you don't believe it's enough.
As for the "have faith" stuff, people tend to want to see it before they believe it. If you just believe it, then you'll see it.....and then some!

Are you sure it is God giving you just enough to believe in, or your mind? It is amazing that 150 years ago people thought that flight was impossible and that only God and the birds could fly, but then it became a reality. God appears to disappear more and more as weight discover more and more about the world around us and the universe and how it works. The human mind created God to explain the things that we find are miracles (things that we currently can not explain), but in 150 years from now will they be viewed as miracles?

There is enough evidence of God's handiwork. You just have to look carefully. I am a Muslim, and to me, in the Quran there are very clear signs that the book is from God. See chapter 1 on this website: http://www.islam-guide.com to read about some of the scientific facts in the Quran which we humans just discovered in the past couple of centuries. You will be blown away!
Now, as far as the question of God not clearly showing himself. Here is my answer: God reveals himself to his prophets, like Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, etc. And he does this because the prophets are the best of the best from among us, and God chooses them because they are as pure as any human can be.
As for us, we are likely to slip and fall into sin repeatedly. We do bad things even when we know they are bad. For example we eat twinkeys and ho-hos even when we know they are bad for our health. People smoke and drink alcohol, even when they are aware of the ill affects. We don't study for exams even when we know that we will not get a good grade. This is human nature, and we all do foolish things which we should avoid.
Now the way this relates to your question is, If God overtly revealed himself to us, we would have NO excuse for disobeying him. Yet, because it is human nature to slip once in a while, we would still disobey him despite clearly seeing him. It's like the example of an open book exam versus a closed book exam. If there is an open book exam, there will be no excuse for getting wrong answers.
So what we Muslims believe is that it is actually God's mercy that he does not appear to us visually. Because if he did so, he could choose to be very strict with those who sin (basically everyone). Since life is a closed book test, and we cannot actaully "see" God. We can make the excuse that "we forgot" or "we weren't sure".
But the bottom line is that there ARE more than enough signs of his existance and his creative power for those who are willing to submit themselves to him. There are some people who see and recognize the signs, but are unwilling to submit their will to the will of God.

This is what we have to understand. You might want to look at the circumstances and see what he has already provided. If were not doing good with what he has done for us than what makes us think he is going to give us anymore. Just like Money if we cant handle what God has already given us he is not going to promote us we have to find ourselves worthly and a faithful servant,

...There were times early in my Christian life when I felt that way - and those times were usually when things didn't go my way, and I was angry with God.
...I do not feel that way much any more. I am reminded of a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, and it goes like this:
"All I have seen teaches me to trust the Creator for all I have not seen."
...He has left plenty of evidence of Himself, of Jesus, the Bible, etc, as you have already said. Why won't you trust Him for the rest, too?
