You have to completely remove the whole fuel tank assembly. Hopefully it is not filled with gas as the extra weight of the fuel is one thing, but the amount of fuel is extremely dangerous to handle. It is like a bomb so be careful. Once fuel tank is out, clean off the top of the tank as you don't want a bunch of crap to get into the tank as it will cause further problems. The pump/sender assembly is held in by a snap ring and the plastic pipes are held usually by clips, all have to be removed. the pump/sender will usually pop right out as it is spring loaded, but you might have to wiggle it to loosen the o-ring seal. Now simply replace the whole thing and re-install tank remembering to replace the filter as well. Good luck.
