Check and see if you have access to the top of the fuel tank from the trunk. If not you will have to raise the car, and carefully remove the fuel tank from underneath. The fuel pump is then removed from the top of the tank. It's not a difficult job from the technical side. Just be careful with the wires and remember which hose is attached to what.

The work itself is a real pain, though and you will need help if you have to drop the tank with fuel in it. It's heavy!
