because thier immune symptoms are very fragile and thrush is caused by a fungus or bacterium that is already present in the mouth, however if the immune system is weak then the fungus over grows causing thrush

Babies get thrush because of a yeast candida overgrowth in the babies mouth that leads to infection.
Babies have an immature immune system and the amount of yeast in the mouth can grow and cause an infection. Another cause is from your baby taking antibiotics.
Whatever the cause give it 2 or 3 days to see if i clears if not go to your doctor where they will prescribe some antifungal solution for the baby to swallow.
And depending on your babies age ask your health visitor about giving your baby yoghurts with lactobacilli in that can help eliminate the yeast in your babies mouth.
Make sure if your baby has a dummy whilst trying to get rid of the thrush that it is extra clean, as well as all toys/cutlary that baby is using, make sure it is all sterillised - this will stop the infection coming back .

Thrush is a yeast infection in the mouth, caused by constant nursing on a mother's nipple also infected. Yeast grows anywhere that's moist and slightly alkaline, and a bay's mouth is the perfect environment. Since they only swallow when they're feeding, the yeast goes to town. Best bet is for mom to take herself and baby to the dr for a Rx for antifungal medication.
