Whenever I look at the teachers while they're talking to the whole class and I look at their eyes, I'm okay, but then when their come intact with mine, I look away quickly. I don't know why I do this other than not liking to give direct eye contact to people. Is this a problem or is it normal to not want to give direct eye contact? I can give direct eye contact to friends however...

Sounds like a normal reaction. I wouldnt worry about it. Try to next time, just keep looking at them. But you'l have to consciously do it.

You should talk to a doctor, since you can't make a direct eye contact I'd say that's a problem. You never mentioned your age so it's hard to say at what stage of development in life your at. I think it's more than just being shy

I kinda have the same problem. I'll look at someone, and I'm okay if they look at me for a second. But, if they don't look away, I will. I don't know why this is. I guess I feel like I'm staring or something.

Usually, with teachers, they are just making sure you are paying attention. Try this. When they look at you, nod or make some gesture to them. They will probably look away.

Or you could try this. Look directly back at them for four or five seconds. If they haven't broken eye contact, look away quickly, then quickly look directly back at them. I don't know why, but most people will look away when you do this.

Strange, isn't it........?

Try looking your teacher in the eye and hold their gaze when they look at you. The teacher has lots of eyes to focus on, and you have only one set to look at, so they constantly look around. You'll build up your confidence by practicing this now. When it comes time for job interviews, direct eye contact is one of the most important things interviewers consider.

There is nothing wrong with you, it just sounds like you don't like people giving you direct eye contact. I'm like that aswell.
Don't be too worried, it's a completely normal reaction.

I have trouble with the same, sometimes I think that people think I'm lying because I can't keep eye contact with them.I hate when I do that I feel humble,I feel very intimidated with men in particular. It has something to do with my past as I was told in therapy, its a trust issue and I'm still working on it.I just wanted to share that with you.It seems to me that you are a bit on the shy side, because you're comfortable with your friends.

Nah,
There is nothing wrong with you honey.
You just simply aren't comfortable with certain people.
It's all good, hun.
