Can you convince someone to believe in God, when they have very solid arguments for not believing? Can you convince someone to stop believing based on argument alone? Both Atheists and Believers are devoted to thinking about God. The only difference is, Atheists are trying to forget God, and Believers are trying to remember God. Does it really matter to God? He doesn't require either belief or non-belief. It is the DEVOTION that God accepts and reciprocates. Whether you are devoted to forgetting God, or remembering God, why contend with each other?

I agree with you. I am atheist but its not like I hate god or Christianity I just don't believe in god. I don't force it on the people that I know and I don't spend a lot of time thinking about god. But most people that say they are Atheist spend a lot of time thinking about it which i don't understand but whatever. I think that someone can change a persons beliefs in one argument because then that person has it in their head and keeps thinking about it. Its not that I try to forget god i just don't necessarily believe in him. But I believe that god will accept you no matter what you believe in as long as you aren't entirely bad.

Huh? Your statement makes no sense whatsoever. How can you have devotion to God if you don't believe in God?? But to answer your question-turned-diatribe, Atheists and Believers are diametrically opposed in the way they perceive God. Believers accept Christ as their saviour. Atheists deny the existence of God altogether. So whenever you have two opposing factions, they are most likely at odds with one another.

I have never heard a strong or solid argument that God does not exist. I am a believer, but I do not see myself at odds with atheists. I am troubled by their beliefs, and more than that worried for them. I am also sad for for them. The bible says they are all fools and their works are not good. My own mother is an atheist, I love her and we get along because of our connection. I also have faith that God has a plan to lead her to Him, but I do not see it as my job to convert her. I pray that all atheists find the truth, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Although forgotten at times, my purpose is to spread the gospel, and show the need of it.

It is faith in Jesus christ for your salvation that God accepts, not devotion in somthing.
For by grace are ye saved through faith, not of your selves it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyman should bost. Ephesians 2:8-9
and than there is John 3:16 and many other passages.

well i'm agnostic and i see alot of things that go on in this forum and it's gets kind of tiring after awhile but the thing is that one person from the religious section might say something towards the non religious people to get them angry and then the other side retaliates and it goes back and forth anyway non religious people have a problem amongst themselves as well as do the religious people have a problem amongst themselves so in reality there's no discrimination and no one can claim to be the bigger oppressed or victims of this site

It's time for us all to LOVE one another regardless of our individual belief systems, isn't it?
I mean that's what we're here for....to love, learn, heal one another and help one another.
It does NOT MATTER what each person believes in. As long as they are doing good in some way.
Some people claim that their beliefs are "being bashed" when in fact these same individuals bash other's for their beliefs.
It makes no sense.
It's not hard to get along everyone.
Just try it.

Theists, especially christians, try to control and restrict us based on their views. If all christians stop crusading against science, culture, art, sex and sexuality, religious freedom and such, and stop telling everybody else they're going to be tortured throughout eternity unless they join you, I assure you that you won't encounter nearly as much hostility.
