Dont get me wrong - I'm highly involved and not in danger of dropping out, and I dont want the social butterflies to drop out either. I'm sure each of us gets and gives something to the church.
But seeing people who lack sincerity has eroded much of my confidence over the years. Now I'm on a quest to regain that confidence.
I wan't quite sure how to word this but Just wondering if this has affected anyone else the same way?

Yes I've seen that,but it doesn't get me down because that's them. As for me, I've got enough on my plate to keep me busy trying to keep my own self straight. Hang in there kiddo,it gets better.

your right that's all it is for them. i'm homeless and contacted churches for help while i could work; am 8 months preg. now and live in a tent. andd the answer i got was sorry you have to be a member! so no they don't care or are even sincer. it's just a place to go and be seen by their friends!

No. To me, church is just as much about community as it is about worshipping God. I see it as a chance to connect with other people of faith, and we can learn from each other.
